Gobble till ya' Wobble

We had Thanksgiving with Darrin's family in Pioche, NV this year. A six hour drive. For those who don't know Pioche is about 80 mile's west of Cedar City. Darrin grew up 30 mile's east of Pioche in a small ranching community called Ursine...most of them just call it Eagle Valley.
Brigham Young had called on some families to settle this valley in 1865. His mom's side of the family The Lytles were among those. Darrin just might have some religious ties after all. LOL!

Darrin's brother and wife hosted Thanksgiving at their home. Kind of a mixed bunch with the Cole family, his wife Penny's family. Plus some hunters that were on a guided hunt with Penny's brother in-law. Penny had everything decorated so cute. I wish I had the talent she does.

You have probably heard Riley talk about her cousin's, especially Clay. "The handsomest boy in town" is what she says. She has always clung to Clay, but at least this trip she branched out and played with her other cousin's. Although Paris got mad because Ry wanted to play with the boys Drew and Kenny.

Riley went on her first hunting adventure. All of the cousin's went bunny hunting. Riley called it "bunny bashing" I was way surprised at her enthusiasm to go considering she loves animals so much...she probably named them all before they shot them though.

Riley loves ribs. On they way down cow's off the side of the road. Riley asked if those were the cow's rib's come from. That was just the start of a million questions...Do they have to kill them first? Do the rib's grow back? How, why, when and where? Do they get ribs from the baby cows? Were just a few. Hopefully we are done with the rib questions for awhile.

On the way home we stopped by a huge pile of gravel to let the dog out. Riley had more fun climbing up and sliding down on her bum than she did at Disneyland last year. We know where we are going on our next vacation. "The Gravel Pile" WA-HOO! Sign up now if you want to come along. LOL!
This is the sunset when we were drinving home. Awesome!

SNOW

I love it when it snow's... As long as I don't need to be anywhere and can stay inside were it's warm. Not to mention that we have a wonderful neighbor with a plow on his 4-wheeler that Love's the chance to use it. Riley got to try out her new gator...I was glad to get it out of the house. Once it's out it out! The poor dog's just couldn't find that ball we we kept throwing, it seemed to blend in with the Snow. Riley still needs to learn that if you throw a snowball at someone, most likely they will throw one back.

How does your garden grow?

How does your Garden Grow? After a long day of getting the garden ready and planted. Riley needed some attention. We collected flat rocks from around our yard and painted them to mark were the plants were. I was so impressed with her painting skills. Check out the watermelon, she painted...all by herself! May 9, 2009 May 10, 2009 June 21, 2009 July 9, 2009 My poor beets didn't make it to long. As soon as they peeked out of the dirt the DAMN birds ate them. We planted artichokes last year with no success. I read that if you leave them in the ground over the winter. Some should grow the next summer. Amazingly We grew Artichokes! So far we have picked one big artichoke and there are a few more growing. I am going to leave a couple to flower because I've heard they are very pretty. We have zucchini coming out our ears and in the next week we will have tomatoes coming out to. The pumpkin leaves are GI - normous! sugar peas The man and the dog responsible for our garden.
Ap ril Fool's Fish stick's, pea's and Tarter Sauce. (really they are sugar wafer crackers covered with frosting and rolled in corn flakes. And green lafy Taffy's rolled into little balls,) And Cupcakes for dessert! (meatloaf with blue mashed potatoes) I think I really fooled her!
